PROGRAM SYNOPSIS

This clinical course in medical emergencies in remote areas is designed for physicians of all specialties.

Millions of people are now traveling to remote areas on vacation where they participate in a variety of outdoor activities. Physicians of all specialties should be prepared to recognize, advise and provide on-site treatment for medical problems and possible injuries which may occur where limited medical resources are available. Although diving medicine will be covered in depth, accidents occurring on land will also be covered.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society and Medical Seminars, Inc. The UHMS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. There will be four academic hours each day.
