Underwater Photography
Seminar and Workshops
Due to requests from our participants, we have organized an opportunity to learn underwater photography or advance your skills. Bonaire’s pristine waters offer perfect conditions and scenery for the aspiring underwater photographer.
Dr.
Andre Smith, passionate underwater photographer and teacher, will be hosting a
series of classroom seminars in the evenings. These will be casual interactive
sessions and are available to anyone whom wishes to register.
There will be a limited number of workshop sessions available to divers who have camera gear. These are one on one diving sessions with Dr. Smith.
Classroom Seminars
Four sessions will be held from Monday to Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm. Sessions will be casual and interactive and will be illustrated by Dr Smith’s underwater images from around the world.
Topics will include:
· The fundamentals of underwater photography
· Equipment choice, setup and maintenance
· Macro photography
· Wide angle photography
· Special techniques
· Digital workflow, photo editing and presentation
We will ask for photo submissions for the evening’s presentation and prizes will be awarded in various categories!
Cost: $50 per registrant.
One on One Workshops (Limited to 11 participants)
Registrants will get a one-on-one session accompanied by Dr. Smith during a scheduled dive. We will review your camera equipment and settings beforehand, and then during the dive concentrate on your technique and make the necessary adjustments to get you taking great pictures in no time!
Prerequisites:
· For certified divers with a suggested minimum of 25 dives.
· Registrants will need their own or rented* underwater photography equipment.
· You will be contacted beforehand about your experience, equipment and goals so that your session will be personalized to your needs.
Cost: $150 per session.
