Douglas Ebersole, MD, FACC is an Invasive/Interventional Cardiologist at The Watson Clinic and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. His degrees include BS in Mathematics (Duke University, 1981), and Doctor of Medicine (University of Miami, 1986). He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center (1986-1989) and a Fellowship in Cardiology at Brooke Army Medical Center (1989-1992).

 

Dr Ebersole began his career in Cardiology in the US Army at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas. During his 10 years at BAMC, he was Director of Coronary Unit (1993), Director of Nuclear Cardiology Section (1994-1996), Director of Fellowship Training (1992-1996), Director Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories (1995-6), and Director of Interventional Cardiology (1995-1996). He held an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (1992-1996).  He achieved the grade of Major before entering private practice in 1996.

 

His specialized credentials include: Interventional Cardiology (PTCA, DCA, Stents, Rotablator, TEC, IVUS, Doppler Flowire, Mitral/Aortic Valvuloplasty, Laser Angioplasty, PFO/ASD Closure); Peripheral Vascular Angiography and Interventions; Nuclear License; and Transesophageal and Intracardiac Echocardiography.

Dr Ebersole began recreational diving in 1974. He is a Master Diver, Cave Diver, Technical Diver, and Advanced Dive Instructor for air, nitrox, and trimix. His diver ratings include:
